The third Future of Tibet Conference was held from April 8-9, 2023, at the Irish Center, New York City, USA. Around 45 Tibetan youths participated actively and discussed various topics related to the future of Tibet.

DAY ONE

For the first session, President of International Campaign for Tibet Tenchoe Gyatso joined via video from Washington DC, USA, and spoke on “Responsibility and Opportunity of Young Tibetan Americans to get involved in politics and advocate for the future of Tibet.”

For the second session, PhD candidate Tsewang Rigzin spoke on “His Holiness the Dalai Lama and People of Tibet: The Past, the Present, and the Future.” And Chemi Lhamo spoke on “The Future Generation of Tibet”. The session was moderated by Tenzin Dhamdul.

In the first session of the afternoon, Bhutila Karpoche, Member of Provincial Parliament for Parkdale—High Park, Toronto, Canada spoke on the “Importance of political participation: How young people can drive policy change on Tibet issue in their countries”.

The session was moderated by Lodoe Gyatso.

DAY TWO

For the first session, Tibetan activist, Co-founder, and Director of Tibet Action Institute Lhadon Tethong and Senior Researcher and Strategist at Tibet Action Institute; PhD Candidate in Political Science at Columbia University, Tenzin Dorjee spoke on Exploring the Role of Youth in Advancing the Tibetan Cause and Building Solidarity with Other Movements for Justice and Equality / China’s Tibet Policy & Changes in Tibet.

The session was moderated by Lodoe Gyatso.

Most of the session of this conference was spent on a scenario planning workshop.

The organizing team of the third Future of Tibet Conference are: Tashi Lamsang, Tenzin Tseyang, Pasang Chunda, Tenzin Damdul, Tsewang Rigzin, Tenzin Dolkar and Chemi Lhamo. The young activists and members of RTYC NYNJ Lobsang Dolma, Tenzin Nordon and SFT member Tenzin Tselha volunteered at the conference.
